Reitmans & Addition-Elle

When I asked Reitmans/Addition-Elle to send me this list of countries where their clothing was made, how often executives visited those countries and what critiera they used for choosing factories they partner with this was their response:

“As part of Reitmans (Canada) Limited, Addition Elle adheres to strict ethical standards when it comes to the manufacturing of our garments. We want to reassure you that our company employs very strict guidelines not only to the quality of our garments, but also to the health and safety of our employees and the employees of our manufacturers. For more information, feel free to visit this link: ”

I have followed up requesting answers to the questions asked.

On twitter the response from @additonelle was: @dressingethics Different countries specialize in different types of garments so the country of origin varies depending on the garment. Thnx

So what do you think this means as a company? I really want to buy ethical clothing, but it’s hard to find ethical clothing stores with plus sizes! Is there any you would recommend?

Have you heard bad things about Reitmans / Addition-Elle?

    I love your blog!

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I have been a bit busy. I have tried to contact Addition-Elle in the past and they have not replied back to me. If I hear of anything I will definitely post about it!
