It has been a long time since I last posted and I have collected a long list of articles and other related material. Over the next few weeks I will be posting what I have collected.
First: an interesting video that outlines The True Cost of our clothing. It is available on Netflix, iTunes, for rent and to buy.
Second: an article that suggests a boycott of clothes made in Bangladesh is not the answer, but we need to work with the unions organizing on the ground and follow up with the Canadian and Bangladesh governments to ensure trade deals protect workers rights.
Third: Beyoncé’s new clothing line comes at a cost – a cost to the workers who make them. Low wages, curfews and sever restrictions. We can do better.
